Thrifty Artwork for your walls
Share
Looking to spruce up your space with some new artwork without breaking the bank? Creating inexpensive art using a free download is a fantastic way to add a personal touch to your home decor. Follow these simple steps to transform a digital image into a beautiful piece of art for your walls.
Step 1: Download the Art
Start by downloading the free art file provided by me. Make sure the image is high resolution and suitable for printing at 8 x 10 inches. This will ensure that your final piece looks crisp and professional. You can print this at home or at your local print shop (Staples, Office Max, etc.)
Step 2: Find a Frame
Head to your local thrift store or second-hand shop to find a frame that fits your artwork. Look for a frame that complements the style of the art and fits the 8 x 10-inch dimensions. You can often find unique and affordable frames that just need a little love.
Step 3: Size the Art
Print the downloaded art on high-quality paper or cardstock. Trim it down to 8 x 10 inches using a sharp pair of scissors or a paper cutter. Make sure the image is centered and trimmed neatly to fit perfectly in your frame. I recommend waiting to cut out the art until you have the frame-sometimes the frames aren't exactly 8 x 10
Step 4: Add Hanging Hardware
Once your art is sized and ready to go, add hanging hardware to the back of the frame. This could be a simple sawtooth hanger, D-rings, or even a wire for easy hanging. Make sure the hardware is securely attached so you can display your new art with confidence.
Step 5: Enjoy Your New Art
Hang your custom artwork in a prominent place in your home and enjoy the beauty of your creation. Not only have you saved money by using a free download and a thrifted frame, but you've also added a unique piece of art that reflects your personal style.
Creating inexpensive art using a free download is a fun and creative way to decorate your space. With a little bit of effort and creativity, you can transform a digital image into a stunning piece of art that will enhance your home decor. Give it a try and see the difference it can make in your space!
Take a look at what I did with my own download. I already had a frame or 2. I found a simple wooded one with glass. And glass is ok to use on this because it's not canvas-canvas needs to breathe. I cleaned it up, added the hanging hardware and boom! This is my $1.00 art.
