⭐Weekly Studio Update: Organized Chaos, Indoor Market Mysteries & Sparkling Water Diplomacy

🎨This week in the studio felt a bit like juggling flaming mid‑century cat heads while standing in a broom closet. Between prepping market inventory, CatCon inventory, bookmarks, postcards, possible notecards, and designing new business cards, my tiny workspace has reached its maximum capacity for “creative clutter.” I even attempted to organize it — a bold move that lasted roughly seven minutes before the piles won.

Meanwhile, real‑life responsibilities like laundry, cooking, and errands kept tapping me on the shoulder like, “Hi, remember us?” No. No, I did not.

🛍️On the market front, I’m still adjusting to the indoor market vibe. Outdoor markets are breezy, casual, and full of impulse shoppers. Indoor markets? Those are ruled by vintage collectors — people who examine every item like they’re appraising artifacts from a sunken ship. I keep wondering if my mid‑century cat art fits in or if I’m the lone neon sign at an antique doll convention. It’s a little intimidating, but I’m rolling with it.

🐾The cats, of course, had their own agenda. All three have decided my drinking cup is now a communal watering hole, so I’ve switched to sparkling water. Turns out they don’t like bubbles. A rare win for me. Then the neighborhood had the palm trees trimmed, which sent the cats into hiding like tiny furry doomsday preppers. I had to pause everything to provide emergency cuddles. They recovered quickly. I did not.

🖼️In frame news, I discovered a gold frame that magically fits almost every piece I make. It’s become the studio’s Swiss Army Frame. Naturally, this means I now need more gold frames. Many more. This is how collections begin.

🎨Art‑wise, I’m continuing my Pride pieces, which have been a joy to work on — bright, bold, and full of attitude. I’m also creating a special piece for the StampFans postcard send‑out, which I’m genuinely excited about. It’s got that perfect mix of vintage charm and cat‑centric chaos that feels very “me.”

Somewhere in the middle of all this, I found myself holding a paintbrush, a bookmark, a business card sample, and a load of laundry, with no memory of which task I had started. So I did the only logical thing: I made coffee and pretended that was the plan all along.

Another week down, another pile of projects in motion, and somehow the cats are still in charge. Thanks for following along in this ongoing adventure of art, markets, and sparkling‑water diplomacy. More chaos soon.

Meow for now,

Jeffrey
